Numerous schools were closed across Connecticut Tuesday, multiple flights were canceled and hundreds of motor vehicle crashes were reported as a nor’easter made its way through southern New England and dumped several inches of snow to much of the state.

Snow started falling in the early-morning hours Tuesday and lingered into the early afternoon, with a winter storm warning that was in place until 6 p.m. for southern portions of the state, according to the National Weather Service. In Hartford County, a storm warning was downgraded early Tuesday to a winter weather advisory that remained in effect until 7 p.m.
The weather service says the new snow showers Thursday are likely before 1 a.m. Expect it to get cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 26.
The service says the wind chill values are forecast to be between 15 and 20 degrees.
Then on Friday, expect it to be mostly sunny, with a high near 41 and wind chill values between 15 and 25.
But on Friday night there is again a 20 percent chance of snow after 4 a.m., with increasing clouds, and a low around 22. This leads to Saturday with a 40 percent chance of snow, mainly before 1 p.m.
Expect Saturday then to be cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 37, according to the weather service. Saturday night it expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 16.
