More snow heading to CT, forecast calls for some areas to be hit over several days

More snow is coming our way in Connecticut tonight, according to the National Weather Service.

The snow follows a storm that dumped as much as foot of snow in some Connecticut towns already this week.

CT employee unions and Lamont at odds over telework during snow day

Numerous schools were closed across Connecticut Tuesday, multiple flights were canceled and hundreds of motor vehicle crashes were reported as a nor’easter made its way through southern New England and dumped several inches of snow to much of the state.

Snow started falling in the early-morning hours Tuesday and lingered into the early afternoon, with a winter storm warning that was in place until 6 p.m. for southern portions of the state, according to the National Weather Service. In Hartford County, a storm warning was downgraded early Tuesday to a winter weather advisory that remained in effect until 7 p.m.

The weather service says the new snow showers Thursday are likely before 1 a.m.  Expect it to get cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 26.

The service says the wind chill values are forecast to be between 15 and 20 degrees.

Then on Friday, expect it to be mostly sunny, with a high near 41 and wind chill values between 15 and 25.

But on Friday night there is again a 20 percent chance of snow after 4 a.m., with increasing clouds, and a low around 22. This leads to Saturday with a 40 percent chance of snow, mainly before 1 p.m.

Expect Saturday then to be cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 37, according to the weather service. Saturday night it expected to be mostly clear, with a low around 16.
