Richard “Bob” Caron passed away peacefully on March 14, 2024. He was the husband of Arlene Follandri Caron. Bob and Arlene have three daughters: Kathleen Caron-Vaughan and her husband Bill, Shirley Piletz and her husband Steve, and Christine Levesque and her husband Dave. They also have three granddaughters: Stephanie Vaughan and her husband Andrew Jaouen, Kelly Vaughan Turiano and her husband Evan Turiano, and Emily Levesque. Bob loved his family more than anything in the world.
Bob played and coached sports in Bristol his whole life, including coaching a Bristol Midget Football team for 20 years. His many athletic accomplishments were celebrated when he was inducted into the Bristol Sports Hall of Fame in 2019.
Bob was the owner of the Allied Real Estate and Insurance Company in Bristol for 40 years. He loved to spend his Sundays cheering on the New England Patriots and the Green Bay Packers. He was never without a smile on his face and a cookie in his hand. Over their 64-year-long happy marriage, Bob and Arlene enjoyed many trips to Florida, Old Saybrook, and many other beaches along the East Coast. Bob was a member of St. Gregory Church in Bristol since its founding.
A wake will be held at O’Brien Funeral Home, 24 Lincoln Ave. Bristol on Tuesday, March 19 from 6-7:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated directly at St. Gregory Church, on Wednesday, March 20 at 11 am, followed by a procession to St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol, for the burial with military honors. Due to Lenten regulations, please no flowers.
