Stella (Lavoie) Martin, 94, a resident of Bristol for 93 years, beloved wife of Rosaire Martin, passed away with her family by her side on Thursday (March 28, 2024) at Shady Oaks Assisted Living.
Stella was born in Van Buren, Maine on March 23, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Walter J and Ida (Ouellette) Lavoie. She moved from Maine to Bristol when she was a child and attended Bristol schools. Stella loved playing cards, line dancing and playing golf. She was a loving wife, mother, sister-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother and friend.
She leaves her loving husband of 76 years, Rosaire Martin of Bristol; her son: David Martin and his wife Karen; granddaughters: Kelly Dubois and her husband Frank of Unionville and great-grandkids: Nathan and Hannah; and Danielle Richman and her husband Jason of Newton, MA and great grandkids: Bradley, Zachary, and Lucy; as well as many nieces and nephews. Stella was predeceased by a loving brother: Clifford Lavoie and wife Norma Lavoie. The family would like to thank Shady Oaks for their compassionate care and friends for their support.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday (April 2, 2024) at 9 AM from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, to St. Gregory Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Entombment will follow in the Holy Family Mausoleum, Bristol. Relatives and friends may call at Funk Funeral Home on Monday between 4 and 7 PM.
