B.E.S.T. 4 Bristol is sponsoring a FREE Naloxone training with Narcan kit included. Naloxone (Narcan) quickly reverses the deadly effects of a narcotic overdose. In Connecticut, you don’t need approval from a doctor to administer Naloxone and you’re protected from prosecution under the state’s Good Samaritan laws.

CERT Members, B.E.S.T.-4-Bristol Coalition Members, Community Volunteers, Providers, and other interested community members are encouraged to attend.

Donovan's Reef was Written by Bristol, CT native Ed Beloin. Beloin had a successful career writing for Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Jerry Lewis. His television credits include: The Lucy Show, My Three Sons and Family Affair. Besides Donovan's Reef, Beloin's movie credits include GI Blues with Elvis Presley and Visit to a Small Planet with Jerry Lewis. Beloin was born April 1, 1910 in Bristol and passed away in Florida in 1992.

The Story:

Three World War II Navy veterans -- Donovan (John Wayne), Doc Dedham (Jack Warden) and Gilhooley (Lee Marvin) -- converge on the French Polynesian island of Haleakaloha and team up to deceive Dedham's prim daughter (Elizabeth Allen), who has just learned of her father's existence and his inherited stock from the company of which she is chairman, and hopes to find just cause to reclaim his shares. Dedham's marriage to an island woman serves to further threaten his share in the company.
